Founded in 1963 by Louis Mingot and his wife Nerina, Kentville’s history of success began modestly with residential homes.
We built two houses in our first year. Within 10 years, we were building over 40 homes a year!.
Early on, Louis understood that the key to a successful construction business was to maintain healthy, ongoing relationships with his top tradespeople and suppliers. He would work with only the very best; many of his contractors continued to work with him until they themselves retired and their businesses continued into the generation.
Today, the family business continues into the next generation, with Louis’s son Livio continuing in his father’s footsteps and upholding his legacy. Louis still visits the sites to offer his experience and advice.
A reputation of excellence.
Having established a happy workforce and superb contacts throughout the trades and construction industry, Louis and Nerina focused their attention onto their clients, helping them with concept design and advice on the best way to build.
They ensured their clients were guided carefully through the building process, with constant feedback to ensure a premium result. Louis personally supervised the works throughout the builds.
Kentville never advertised; relying instead on word-of mouth and a great reputation for build quality. Clients would return to build again; some downsizing, some upsizing!
New Building for a New Generation.
Moving in the 1980s, the demand for smaller triple-fronted style homes diminished and larger designer homes became sought-after. We transitioned easily because we had such a talented team. Architect-designed luxury homes became the norm.
In the 1990’s Louis’s son Livio and his daughter Susan joined the family business and Livio manages Kentville to this day, upholding the company’s excellent reputation.
Kentville continues to build luxury homes and unit developments. We still generate business through word-of mouth and a reputation for excellence.

Livio Mingot
As manager of the business, Livio Mingot’s credentials include a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons), Certificate III in Occupational Health and Safety, Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, and Certificate IV in interior Design Studies. Livio works hard on his professional development.
